John Murphy is an internationally recognised film editor working across feature drama and documentary. His work spans independent Irish cinema and international productions, with films premiering at festivals including Sundance, Berlin, SXSW, Toronto, Locarno, Hot Docs, Sheffield Doc/Fest, CPH:DOX and IDFA.

John is a three-time Irish Academy nominee for Best Editor, winning the award in 2022 for the Irish-language feature ‘An Cailín Ciúin‘(The Quiet Girl). That film went on to win awards at the Berlin International Film Festival and was nominated for both an Oscar and a BAFTA for Best International Feature Film.

Alongside his feature work, John has edited award-winning television across documentary, history, politics, sport, music and culture.
