An Engagement with Franc

Power Pictures – BBC NI – 2008- Dir: David Power

Brides of Franc was a huge hit on these shores and I had been involved in every series, first as an assistant and then as a firefighting Editor, cutting little bits and pieces of episodes, whenever I was free. This series was the first Franc series I was to cut on my own.
This was a series I did for BBC NI. It follows guys as they prepare to pop the big question. Franc is there to offer support and his expert opinion. This series is a lot of fun and quite moving in places. Quite proud of this one.

Episode One
Tour guide Stephen McPhilemy has decided to settle in his hometown with Canadian girlfriend Vicki Montcalm, but can Franc conjure up an unforgettable day that incorporates music and elements of Vicki’s home country in a spectacular setting?

The only problem for Franc is that Richard has two left feet…

Episode Three
When Phil Maxwell approached Franc about his proposal to Jill Crothers, he wanted something special, but was not exactly sure what.
After a consultation with Franc, however, he decides on a dramatic Scandinavian event, full of misty peaks and sweeping fjords. But how will Franc keep the proposal a secret from Jill?
