Last year I edited my brothers short film ‘The Weather Report’. The film has its world premiere this coming saturday as part of the Belfast Film Festival. As well as that exciting prospect, the film was also recently accepted into the fifth annual Limerick Film Festival.
This year the festival, run by editor Simon Maguire, has expanded out from its LIT origins and into the city as part of Limericks City of Culture status. The festival has several strings to its bow, Professional equipment and industry workshops, Film screenings, Guest speaker talks and Keynote speeches as well as an infamous Short Film Awards Night.
Last week they announced the nominations for the short film awards. I’m delighted that ‘The Weather Report’ was nominated in 3 categories; Best Director; Best Camera;Best Overall. It would be great for everyone involved in the film if it were to pick up an award but especially for my brother Paul who directed the film.
